I'm April, a nutrition and transformation specialist. I've been working with people for over 15 years teaching the WHY and HOW to implement healthy habits that are sustainable for a lifetime. It all steamed from my own personal journey. I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), saw a dietician from the hospital and was basically handed the Food Pyramid told to eat smaller meals and sent on my way! Left to my own devises to figure it out. So that's what I did.
I spent the next year researching and learning how to stabilize by blood sugar. My background as a pharmaceutical representative taught me how to read studies and distinguish the credible information from the crap you can find with a basic Google search. And trust me there is a lot of crap out there!
Who knew that this would become my passion? People began coming to me asking questions and wanted my opinion on how they could make changes in their own lives. It became very apparent that there was a need and gap in this area. Over the years I acquired certifications in nutrition, corporate wellness and group fitness. I wanted to learn the best way to help as many people as I could.
I soon came to realize that it wasn't just about knowing the WHY but the HOW that made the most impact. In comes expanding my knowledge on habit formation. How do we incorporate the nutritious foods, functional fitness, stress management and quality sleep into our daily lives and stick to it? That's what The Habit Compass is all about!

Exercise: Let's get moving! Why is exercise important, is more than you think. Function fitness to strengthen our bodies allowing us to sit, stand, pull push, lift. Basic functions we need to live a life and move into our later years with vitality.
Stress Management: Oh how stress can reek havoc on our bodies! A constant state of flight cause lack of motivation, weight gain, emotional instability and a lot more. There is no way to avoid stress but there are way to manage it.
Quality Sleep: Recognizing the profound impact of sleep on wellbeing underscores the importance of prioritizing restorative sleep as an integral part of a healthy lifestyle.
Habit Transformation: By developing a deep understanding of our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, we can identify the root causes of our habits and work towards transforming them effectively.
